To whom it may concern,
I am writing this letter to
Warner Brothers/Warner Home Video to ask that you please create a poll of television shows that Warner Bros. owns the DVD
rights too for the public to vote on which show(s) they would most like to see brought to DVD.
I would also like to ask that you please include the 1991-1993 drama Homefront
in this poll. I am a huge fan of Homefront
and would love to add this fantastic show to my collection.
I understand that you, the person reading
this letter, may not remember Homefront.
Let me tell you a little about it.
It aired on ABC from 1991-1993, and while it only lasted 2 seasons it developed a very large fan base. It was produced by Lorimar Television, which Warner Bros. acquired shortly after the last episode aired
in 1993. It was a drama which starred Kyle Chandler, Tammy Lauren, Mimi Kennedy,
Ken Jenkins, Kelly Rutherford, David Newsom, Sammi Davis-Voss, Harry O’Reilly, Wendy Phillips, and Jessica Steen. It had fans such as Dear Abby, who rallied to try to keep it on the air. It was featured in TV Guide and Entertainment Weekly on more than one occasion. It now has many websites dedicated to it. There is a Yahoo
Group with 800+ members (http://tv.groups.yahoo.com/group/homefront/), and a website dedicated to seeing it released onto DVD where fans can sign a petition,
www.homefrontondvd.com. You can also find this show on www.tvshowsondvd.com , where it has 1575+ votes to be released on DVD.
I realize that this show may not
seem like it is in high demand, but it really is. Now would be a great time to
release it. Kyle Chandler is currently in the new Peter Jackson film, King Kong. Kyle also appeared in a recent episode of the hit show Grey's Anatomy, which aired after the superbowl.
Kelly Rutherford is now in a show on NBC called E-Ring. Also,
one of the producers of Homefront, Lynn Marie Latham, also created a show called
Second Chances which is now available on DVD, and it mentions Homefront on the cover of this DVD set. I know that if you created
a TV show poll, and included Homefront, you’d see that there really is a
great desire for this show to be released onto DVD. Plus, you’d find out
what other shows people really want on DVD. You only stand to benefit from taking this
action. Warner Bros./Warner Home Video has the capability to advertise such a poll and draw in thousands of fans
to vote, and therefore only stands to profit by creating such a poll. I know
of other studios/websites that have done similar polls, one of which is owned by Warner Bros…Turner Classic Movies has
a poll of old movies for people to vote on.
I ask that you please consider this request
very seriously, as well as consider releasing Homefront onto DVD as soon as possible. Thank you very much for your time.
Sincerely,
